Bali Hotels Association latest update on the situation in Bali related to the novel coronavius outbreak in China.

The WHO declared the novel coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern, as this would allow the WHO to better coordinate the international response and hold nations to account if they overstep the organization's standards -- which may pertain to travel, trade, quarantine or screening.

Bali's Vice Governor issues a statement for Bali on novel coronavirus. All BHA hotel members have been briefed about the virus as well as detection and prevention measures and to take any precautions to ensure guests have a memorable, pleasant and healthy holiday on the island of the Gods.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport authorities in Denpasar, Bali had installed thermal scanners on two of the airport's international arrival gates to anticipate any coronavirus transmission that was suspected to be the cause of the pneumonia.

Bali Hotels Association scholarship recipient Novi is off to a flying start at Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (STP) Bali . Novi began her studies on a full scholarship in July 2019 courtesy of Bali Hotels Association.
 

A recent survey of 157 member hotels in Bali reveled the reality that people are not cancelling their trips to Bali.
The Australian media claims that people were cancelling due to the reported draft of the “bonking bill” were unfounded. 

Once again Bali students held a peaceful rally to voice their concerns about the draft bill and other important issues they are passionate about.

SEPTEMBER 2019. BALI – INDONESIA. On September 21, 2019, 157 members and over 5000 participants of the Bali Hotels Association took part in the International Coastal Cleanup Day, a program initiated by a non-profit organization, Ocean Conservancy, 34 years ago. Now with more than 6 million volunteers in over 90 countries, involving the local community, schools, and businesses, the cleanup took place in 16 different regions in Bali.

Bali Government office encourages all parties involved in tourism (i.e., persons visiting or planning to visit, as well as industry stakeholders) to stay calm and continue their activities (or planned activities) as usual. 

Amid mounting criticisms rejecting the controversial revisions of the Criminal Code, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has called for the House of Representatives to hold off on passing the bill, citing public concerns over some problematic amendments.
