Bali will remained closed to international tourists through the end of the year

Bali Hotels Association 01 September 2020

There has been so much speculation in the media of late  regarding Bali tourism sector recently., following two months of cautious and controlled reopening.

The decision was not a postponement as such, as much as waiting for a green light on the borders being open again by the central Indonesian Government to allow foreigner to enter Bali. Currently, the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No.11 of 2020 still applies, which prohibits foreigners from entering the Indonesian Territory.  Indonesia is also observing the wider international situation – Bali cannot open to international arrivals if travellers are not permitted to depart from their home countries.

Bali Hotels Association continues to update our safety protocols, policy and operating procedures as new information becomes available and best practices are shared across the industry by leading experts in their respective fields. Bali Hotels Association have created a dedicated COIVD-19 Health & Safety Policy, which we continue to update as required.

We also understand that our partners have many concerns and questions regarding the current situation in Indonesia with regards to Covid-19 as Indonesia’s borders remain closed to international arrivals for the time being.

Quick action and careful preventative measures taken in Bali  has only seen about 4,500 cases despite Indonesia’s COVID-19 numbers hovering around the 155,000-mark across a total population of 267 million. It is important to note that the number of cases in Bali under care in hospitals remains low.
