Based on the official update from Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency,  earlier today 23 December 2018,  there were elements of a perfect storm, which caused a small tsunami in Banten - Lampung which is located 1200 km away from Bali. There were anticipated full moon high tides,  activity from the Krakatoa Volcano as well as an earthquake in the area.   This recent series of events has NOT affected Bali.

Back in August 2018 the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) announced that it allowed the country's Muslims to receive a government-sponsored vaccine for measles and rubella, despite its containing porcine gelatin.  MUI Allows Indonesian Muslims to Receive MR Shots. 

The Bali Government's Department of Health has issued a statement to refute the claims in the media there is an outbreak of Japanese encephalitis in Bali. 
 

 

Bali Hotels Association extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to all the victims and their families affected by the earthquakes and tsunami in Central Sulawesi as well as the Mt. Soputan's eruption in North Sulawesi that happened recently.

A series of earthquakes in Sulawesi and a resulting tsunami in Palu occurred on Friday 28th September.
