BHA Sustainability Policy & Vision

To provide a clear and informed voice in supporting the members of Bali Hotel Association on the journey towards becoming a holistic sustainable tourism business, guided by four pillars. The holistic framework gives members guidelines to comprehend the various aspects of sustainability – BHA aims to assist members in securing propositions and establishing frameworks that the properties can use to build their vision.

Sustainability Champions workgroup

Sustainability Champions workgroup formed by participants in member hotels to drive initiatives and awareness in member hotels and local community. Regular meetings for prioritization, organization and action.

Local and sustainable sourcing initiatives

Local and sustainable sourcing initiatives featuring Indonesian and Bali based producers of food and other items used in our hotels

Waste reduction and diversion programs

Waste reduction and diversion programs and awareness campaigns for items such as single use plastics, food, linen, soap and cooking oils. Organize and participate in cleanup events with organisations such as Sungai Watch, Bali’s Biggest Cleanup, International Coastal Cleanup.

Energy and resource reduction

Energy and resource reduction and efficiency programs and awareness activities through participation by member hotels in events such as World Water Day, Earth Day, Earth Hour.
