On June 16, 2024, we proudly kicked off our "Sustainability in Hospitality: Sustainable Practices for Bali's Future" training series at the Mercure Resort Sanur. With 40 participants from various departments, including front office, sales, marketing, F&B, IT, and housekeeping, the workshop aimed to empower individuals to become agents of sustainability in the hospitality industry.

Our esteemed trainer, Marya Umar, a Sustainability Consultant for New World Together, led the workshop. Marya is a passionate advocate for sustainable change, bringing a unique blend of experience in education, trauma study, and sustainability. Her expertise and commitment to supporting individuals and organizations in becoming part of the solution make her an invaluable asset to our training series.

John T G Nielsen, CHE BHA Member of the Board & Head of Sustainability says "The objective of this initiative is to instill a sense of urgency, responsibility, and agency in our participants, enabling them to implement sustainable practices within their roles and beyond. Together, we are building a greener, more sustainable future for Bali's hospitality industry."

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this meaningful event. Let's continue to lead the way in sustainable hospitality! Next event will be in August 2024. BHA Members can register online via the member site.
