The Bali Hotels Association (BHA) started the year on a high note with the first General Managers Meeting of 2025, held on Wednesday, February 5th, at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. We extend our sincere gratitude to GM Adrien MARIE and his team for their exceptional hospitality.

The meeting saw a strong turnout as members gathered to discuss key industry developments, strategic initiatives, and collaborations for the year ahead. Among the main topics covered were the 2025 Training Programs, aimed at equipping hospitality professionals with essential skills, and crucial Safety & Security Updates to safeguard both guests and staff.

Our ongoing commitment to sustainability remains a priority, with discussions centering around our support for the Bali Tourism Authority (Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Bali) in advocating for sustainable practices. This includes urging all tourism stakeholders, including BHA member hotels, to transition to tumblers or single reusable bottles during events, meetings and training in a concerted effort to minimize plastic waste. This initiative aligns with Bali Governor Regulation No. 97 of 2018 on Limiting the Generation of Single-Use Plastic Waste, reinforcing our dedication to high-quality, sustainable tourism in Bali. Many BHA member hotel and resorts already have very successful no-plastic practices in place for guests services.

Additionally, BHA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives remain at the forefront, with continued plans to support impactful community programs. Marketing strategies were also a focal point, as we work to further elevate Bali’s presence on the global stage through the ongoing destination campaign, Bali, Your Way: Experience, Explore, Embrace.

2024 Key Statistics: A Strong Year for Bali Tourism
The meeting also provided an in-depth review of the 2024 tourism statistics, which highlighted impressive growth:
-Foreign Tourist Arrivals (December 2024): Bali welcomed 551,199 foreign tourists, marking a 16.54% increase from November 2024.
-Top Foreign Market: Australia remains Bali’s largest source of visitors, with 136,570 arrivals and a 24.78% market share.
-Domestic Tourist Arrivals: Bali hosted 1,987,202 domestic tourists in December 2024, reflecting a 12.45% increase from the previous month.
-Annual Total (January–December 2024): Bali recorded 6,333,360 total visitors, reflecting a 20.10% increase from 2023 and a 0.93% increase from pre-COVID 2019 levels. These figures reaffirm Bali’s tourism resurgence, solidifying its status as a top global destination.

Industry Insights & Networking
A Market Update from Horwath HTL offered valuable industry insights, helping hoteliers navigate evolving trends. BHA Corporate Partner 3D Scan also shared the latest advancements in hospitality technology. Furthermore, we welcomed new members to the association, reinforcing our strong and dynamic hospitality network.

A special thank you to Multi Bintang Indonesia and Hatten Wines Bali for supporting our networking session, which provided an excellent opportunity for members to connect and exchange ideas.

As we embark on another year of growth and collaboration, we look forward to our upcoming meetings. Together, let’s continue to elevate Bali’s hospitality industry and drive positive change!
