The Bali Hotels Association hosted a student gathering on June 17, 2024, attended by all active BHA scholarship students, alumni, and representatives from sponsoring hotels. This event, held bi-annually, serves as a platform for students to connect with the BHA team and sponsoring hotels.

This session featured two alumni who shared their experiences with the students. Mr. Putra, who studied from 2016 to 2020, discussed his school days and current life on a cruise ship. He spoke about his aspiration to one day start his own villa management company. He also shared how he coped with the loss of his father due to COVID-19, which left him responsible for his family’s financial support, and offered advice on maintaining positivity in the face of challenges and setbacks.

Ms. Padmayoni, a scholarship student from 2006 to 2009 and now the Director of Human Resources at The Legian, recounted her career journey from an entry-level position. Although she initially studied accounting with the intention of becoming a professional accountant, her career path led her to the HR field, which she grew passionate about. She emphasized the importance of having an open mind, setting goals, networking, and following one’s inner calling.

Mr Wayan Warta, the Director of Education, Training, and Scholarship at BHA, stated, "BHA is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in tourism through our scholarship program in collaboration with the Tourism Polytechnic of Bali. We provide full financial support and a mentoring program to ensure students are well-prepared for their industry careers."

Since its inception in 2002, the BHA Scholarship program has supported 165 students. Most alumni work for hotels and other tourism companies in Bali and abroad.
