During a virtual press briefing on Monday, June 28, 2021, The Governor of Bali stated that the new circular is in line with the directions of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment and the Transportation Minister to tighten up the entrance to Bali through domestic trips, particularly by air.
This policy will be regulated under a gubernatorial circular, SE no 8, of Bali province that will be issued on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Upon the issuance of this policy, other test results, such as Antigen and GeNose, will no longer be valid for air passengers.
The Bali administration also plans on tightening the transportation regulations for sea and land passengers headed for Bali. These passengers will be required to carry negative Antigen or PCR test results. “So GeNose test results are no longer valid.”
Wayan said the Bali government was presently coordinating with the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on the imposition of this new policy. The Bali government will give a transitional period of two days beginning Monday, June 28 to passengers seeking to enter Bali before the policy takes effect.
The Bali government recorded the number of domestic air passengers traveling to Bali in June 2021 reached 8,000-9,000 passengers per day, while domestic passengers traveling by land reached 10,000 per day.
