Two Bali villages win Zero Waste award

Two villages in Denpasar city, Bali, have bagged the Zero Waste Village award from the Ministry of Home Affairs on account of their success in source-based waste processing.

The two villages are Sanur Kauh in South Denpasar sub-district and Kesiman Kertalangu in East Denpasar sub-district, head of protocol and communication for the Denpasar city government, I Dewa Gede Rai, informed on Wednesday.

"The awards have been bestowed to the two villages in Denpasar because they have been able to reduce waste, and conduct socialization to the public," Rai said.

BHA supports the calls for Bali to be exempted from the announced mudik ban.

In a letter delivered to the Bali Tourism Government officials this week, that addressed the concern of 157 member hotels and resorts regarding the impact of the National Indonesian Government announcement to ban sea, land, air and rail travel from 6-17 May 2021 over the Eid festival. While the intention of the mudik ban is meant to prevent the further spread of the virus, the ban itself will have a very profound affect to all facets of the community in Bali. Businesses will face closure, unemployment will rise, and negative knock-on effects will be inevitable.

Bali Chosen To Host Indonesia International Marathon 2022

Bali has been chosen to host the first Indonesia International Marathon (IIM), which will be held on June 26, 2022, with the concept of sport tourism.

"In addition to strengthening the synergy between the central and regional governments, this event aims to form a superior and healthy young generation through sports competitions," said IIM 2022 committee chairman Made Cakra Adi in a written statement in Denpasar, reported by Antara, Sunday, April 10.

Bali Hotel Associations Participates in Bali's Biggest Clean-up Campaign

Bali Hotel Association (BHA) has proudly announced its support and participation in the biggest clean-up on the island of Bali to date. Held annually since 2017, Bali’s Biggest Clean Up is organized by Bali based network; One Island One Voice/ Satu Pulau Satu Suara.  The next clean up will be held on 20th February, 2022 marking the 6th annual Clean Up and will involve more than 12,500 people comprising team members from hospitality companies and non-governmental organizations at 123 locations throughout Bali.
