Vaccine Program Underway in Bali

Bali Hotels Association 18 March 2021

During last month's  Bali Hotels Association met with members to discuss how we could assist the Government vaccination program. Our member hotels are already practicing cleanliness and safety protocols in accordance with the industry-wide ‘CHSE’ program, as well as the staff are already trained to consistently carry out these functions.
Hotels can also meet one very important requirement by having existing temperature-controlled areas, specifically large refrigeration units usually used for food service since approved COVID-19 vaccines need to be stored at certain low temperatures. The hotels have existing infrastructure and operational capabilities to serve as vaccine administration sites and capacity to assist.

BHA joined forces with other stake holders such as IHGMA, BASCOMM and the Bali Tourism Government Office and the Department of Health, with the support of the Indonesian Minister Of Tourism and Creative Economy we all worked toward the first phase of getting the tourism industry vaccinated. As an industry, we have always stepped up to help our community in a time of need and in just 6 days 90,000 people signed up. Yesterday was the first day of using a hotel as a vaccination site. Thanks to Harris Hotel Sunset Road for stepping up to help to be part of the program.
One short month later and Bali's Tourism Industry is well on the way with the vaccination program.  Over 12 BHA member hotels have meet the criteria and are schedule to hold vaccination days at their hotels.
