Bali Hotels Association's 161 Member hotels, resorts and villas in Bali with more than 25,693 hotel rooms and almost 31,238 employees in the tourism sector were represented at the launching of the Bali Clean Trash Movement with the Governor of Bali at the Bali Arts Centre on Friday, 11 April, 2025. The Bali Governor, Wayan Koster, has issued Circular Number 9 of 2025 on the Bali Waste Cleanup Movement, which officially commenced on April 11, 2025. The new legislation will change the way in which trash is managed on the island.
Bali’s waste management issues have hit international headlines over the year so this is a positive move by the Bali Government. BHA has been part of the beach clean-up program by Sungai Watch as well as the installation of a second barrier in a river, which is a major source of trash with Sungai Watch.
