Indonesian Government closes borders to travelers from China
The Indonesian government decided on Sunday 02 February 2020 to close borders to all travelers from China, after Sunday’s successful evacuation of most of its citizens from Wuhan, the epicenter of novel coronavirus outbreak in China’s Hubei province starting Wednesday 05 February 2020 at midnight.
The government would bar all direct flights from the mainland China from landing on Indonesian territories, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said in a press conference on Sunday.
Indonesia would also close its border to all travelers who have spent more than 14 days in the Mainland, Retno said.
Bali's International Airport continues to maintain a strict vigilance based the WHO recommendations, with the several large hospitals in Bali designated by the Bali Government departments to be deemed ready to take any visitors who display any flu like symptons and having be screened in being in any overseas infected area.
