Bali Hotels Association was made aware of a situation in regard to the death of a visitor to Bali who was suspected of having COVID-19.
Our thoughts are with the family and we understand that the family is being offered assistance by official authorities in Bali. This visitor was in the high-risk group before her arrival in Bali.
At this point, all facts are being checked. Officials are conducting contact tracing to identify individuals who had close contact with the visitor.
Globally WHO and Government Officials maintain that there is no need to avoid places where persons with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been. The risk of infection from transient contact, such as in public places, is low. There is also currently no evidence in Bali of community spread.
We advise members of the public to not speculate and/or spread unfounded rumors. Please visit only official sites, such as www.who.int for updates on the COVID-19 situation. You can also go to www.balihotelsassociation.com for access to the latest information in Bali.
