Mt Agung Levelled up to Danger - Sep 22, 2017Resource:Sutopo Purwo NugrohoHead of Information Data Centre and Public Relations BNPBThe raise of Volcanic activity caused by the increment of earthquakes made the status of Mt. Agung in Karangasem, Bali was levelled up from Alert (Level 3) to Danger (Level 4) by PVMBG Badan Geologi. This is the Highest level of Volcano status as of 22/9/2017 at 20.30 Wita.Recommendation by PVMBG:Nobody nor activities are allowed include hiking and camping within radius of 9 km from the peak of Mt. Agung and extended areas to the North, North east, South east and South-South west at 12 km.The Danger Status has already been reported by Head of PVMBG to Head of BNPB, BPBD Provinsi Bali and BPBD regencies around Mt. Agung for anticipation action.The extended of steril area will cause more refugees.BNPB and BPBD will take anticipatory actions related with possible eruption and refugees management based of the Danger Status of Mt. Agung. Head of BNPB has been in Bali for coordination actions with Governor of Bali and related Head of Regencies. National Commando Post to be activated for assistancies to local government.Logistic aid and equipment are being driven to refugee points. Coordination meeting among Ministries, institution and other parties is to be taken place. BNPB and BPBD are placing Radius Signages at strategic areas for public awareness of safe and danger areas.All communities are advised to remain calm and avoid misleading issues. MT. Agung IS NOT errupted at present. Monitoring is being instensified.
